yoongi holds the dragon at arm’s length, staring at it like he’s never seen a dragon in his entire life, and jeongguk giggles again, muffling it with a hand over his mouth because it shouldn’t be funny, but it is.
min yoongi, the fearless dragon rider, winner of several championships and owner of the ferocious grimfang—terrified of a dragon that fits in his hand and can’t do anything but make a few noises. yoongi has plenty of scars himself from training accidents, crashes, run ins with dragons that don’t like him. but he can’t hold a baby.
“stop laughing at me,” yoongi says finally, sending a glare to jeongguk, who only laughs harder. “it’s—stop it! it’s weird, i don’t like it. it’s so small, how do i know it won’t just like, take a shit in my hand? or try to eat my finger?”
(or: yoongi is a dragon rider and jeongguk is the tamer who raises his dragon’s babies. something else is born along the way.)

jeongguk didn’t lose an eye, probably because the healers were able to salvage it with magic. but they clearly couldn’t do anything about the rest of the wound—there are two massive, jagged scars running from just over the top of jeongguk’s left eyebrow to nearly his jaw, one going right through his eye and the other curving around his cheek. they’re claw marks, something only a beast could have left. they mar jeongguk’s face—his tiny, tiny face. it looks like something straight out of a horror movie.
but—yoongi knows. he knows, even at the age of seven, that making jeongguk feel like something out of a horror movie is the worst thing he can do.
so yoongi says, “man. why do you get the wicked scar?”
(or: as far as the magical world cares, werewolves are monsters. yoongi does his best to show jeongguk otherwise.)
