“Now that your friends have left,” Akechi starts, tone a bit sarcastic—sue him—as he looks over, “I remember you promised me a follow-up game of billiards?”
The old and frayed pool table on the side of the room had been part of the appeal of this seedy little venue, after all. Akechi still prefers the one at Jazz Jin (he likes his routines) but he’ll settle for this in the interest of joining in another competition against Kurusu.
Kurusu hums, and nods. To a passerby, he might seem casually interested at best, but Akechi is close enough—and knows him well enough—to catch the way his eyes sparkle as he downs the rest of his beverage (wow) and gets to his feet. He stretches out his arms with a bit of a flourish, tossing his dark curls out of his face, and Akechi watches as the yellowed lights above the bar reflect off the lenses of his glasses. Were Akechi anything but a professional, he’d almost be worried about Kurusu distracting him during their contest… of course, Kurusu has gotten good enough at pool by now that he doesn’t have to resort to such underhanded methods.
