Maybe if they had a little more time, Oda would learn to understand everything about Dazai. He would learn to unravel him in a way no one else will ever be able to, touch him completely bare and naked. Crawl through every opening he sees, turning him into his fascinatingly miserable muse.
Right now, though, he won’t let himself. Things aren’t meant to be this way. That’s what he thinks.
But he was wrong before. He knows that too.
Alternatively: before hitting the ground, Dazai is pulled right back into his agony by a gravity manipulator.

When we were little we made houses out of cardboard boxes. We can do anything. It's not because our hearts are large, they're not, it's what we struggle with.
Oda has a thing for strays, but Dazai isn't a stray. Dazai's dangerous. It's not an unfair judgement if it's right.

Summary
A house near the ocean. Odasaku smiling, working on making his dream a reality. No bloodshed, no longer does he have to endure Mori’s teaching or the backbreaking work of killing person after person for the gain of a greater good he never believed in.
His body heals, heathier than it has been in years. But his heart is heavy.
There is no invisible hand choking the life out of him. Oda hasn’t left him behind. He should be happy. Overjoyed even.
So, why does Dazai find himself sitting at the edge of a cliff?
