Kili has always been afraid of needles, which sometimes makes it difficult for him to self-inject his testosterone. Tauriel is always happy to give him help and reassurance.
Tauriel throws the wipe away, picking up the syringe. She uncaps it, giving him a pitying look, “You can look away if you want to baby.”
“I know,” he says, though he does not move his gaze. Kili watches as Tauriel pushes the stopper on the syringe until the fluid beads out. He bites his lip, worrying it between his teeth. He can feel his leg betray him, moving again.

Frodo Baggins is accepted for this year's Long Walk. In this competition, he and forty-nine other boys must walk at three miles per hour until there is one boy left. The winner receives a cash prize, as well as any wish of his granted. Frodo is determined to win, not just for him, but for his family.

"A knock rings against his car, an armed soldier motioning for them to get out with his carbine. They do so, Bilbo walking over to his son.
Frodo hugs him, “I know you don’t want me to do this Papa, but I have to. For Ada.”
Bilbo’s eyes sting with tears as he shakes his head, “You don’t have to do anything,” he hisses, “you don’t have anything to prove. Your father loved you. If he was here…” he hiccups, interrupting himself, “Well, you know what he’d say if he was here.”"

Thranduil is the lead of his local Rocky Horror Picture Show shadow cast, in which he plays Frank N Furter every Saturday. This Saturday it is raining, and as luck would have it, he has forgotten his umbrella. A kind stranger helps him inside.
Or Bard is a virgin at his first Rocky Horror Picture Show screening, and Thranduil can't help but be captivated by him.

"Anyone who bedded next to Thorin Oakenshield would know that he had night terrors. Horrible things they were, often resulting in Thorin getting poor rest. As Bilbo laid closest to the dwarf, it was only logical that he noticed them the most. Sometimes they were subtle, the only tell that they were happening being Thorin’s facial movements."
Thorin has night terrors. Some nights are worse than others, and this was one of those nights. Bilbo does his best to help Thorin any way he can.

“I’ve…” Nori sighed. “I’ve known for a while that my lot in life is to be a tool. Somethin’ other people use. And the thing about tools… they break. And when you’ve got a hammer that won’t hit without splinterin’… well, most folks just go out and get a new hammer. One that works exactly as intended. I’m used to that. But then you come along, and suddenly I’m bein’ patched up and fixed instead of thrown out, and it’s weird. I keep waiting for the day when I’m not worth fixin’ anymore.”
Dwalin tightened his hold a little, tucking the back of Nori’s head beneath his chin. “You’re not a tool,” he murmured into his hair. “You’re you. If I wanted someone who’d do everything I told them to… well, that’s not who ye are, is it? That’s not the Nori I fell in love with.”
Or: homecoming hits harder than Nori expected. Thankfully, Dwalin is around for some reassurance.

“No communication issues?” Thorin repeated, looking at the hobbit now with even more uncertainty. “You didn’t think to tell me that this hobbit only spoke his own language?”
“A minor setback, really,” the wizard said, waving off the dwarf’s concerns with a smile. He squeezed Bilbo’s shoulder before clearing his throat. “Young Master Baggins, here, is the son of one of the Shire’s most proficient Westron speakers. He was exposed to the language as a child, although he hasn’t had much use for it in his lifetime so his skills have, understandably, diminished. But I have no doubt that, given the opportunity to learn, he would pick it up quite quickly. He is a clever fellow if I’ve ever known one.”
(OR: Thorin needs a burglar, Bilbo needs a dictionary, and Gandalf needs a drink.)

Summary
After the Battle of Five Armies, Bilbo isn't sure of his welcome in the mountain, and thus returns to the Shire as soon as he can. Somewhat to his surprise, Ori goes with him -- but it turns out Ori has his own reasons for leaving Erebor behind. Well, Bilbo's quite used to being the talk of the Shire.
The line of Durin might suffer of thick skulls, but fortunately Kíli is less stubborn than his uncle and brother, and decides to fix things, even if that means taking his newlywed wife for a ride all the way to the Shire and beyond. Of course, he doesn't yet know what he'll see there -- but he does know how to fix things. Even if it means giving up his claim to the throne.
(Let's not kid ourselves -- that's his favourite part.)

Summary
