Steve didn't like Tony Stark.
Stark probably didn't like Steve, either. They'd gotten off on the wrong foot, and that was putting it mildly.
And having to pretend to be a civilian Stark was dating, as cover for trying to save Stark's life while Iron Man was busy with a SHIELD mission, obviously wasn't going to help.

He only knows a handful of guys on the team, and familiar faces are the ones he hones in on first. A few snaps of Jongseong, Youngjae, Beomgyu. But overwhelmingly, Sunghoon fills up his SD card with shots of a stranger.
Number 15, floppy brown hair and something like an infectious smile, shines on the field. Sunghoon isn’t one to believe in fate, but there’s no denying this guy is proof of it. He plays like he was made to.

Summary
A lot of stories start with "a man walks into a bar", but these days a lot of stories that start that way end pretty badly.
Steve tries not to think about that too hard as he approaches the door off the alley just past the corner of 55th and Broadway. The alley smells like grease and garbage and everything else a New York City alley usually smells like, and when Steve opens the swinging door there's nobody in the storeroom of the deli.
He takes a left at the canned peas, and the second door is there, right where his source said it would be. He tries the knob, and it turns easily and opens into a dingy staircase that nobody's cleaned in a long while. It's dark, and Steve wonders for a minute if they're open, but then he hears it - the clink of a glass, the low murmur of conversation. He's in the right place.
It's not exactly reassuring.

Seokjin took the phone and looked in amazement at a 28-second fancam set to a sultry, moany song that featured slow-mo footage of Namjoon escorting him in and out of cars and buildings, of Namjoon holding umbrellas for him, of Namjoon shoving people out of the way at an airport (Seokjin remembered that chaotic day). With piercing and sharp dragon eyes, Namjoon sent glares at crowds and photographers like he was two steps from murder at any given moment, but then Namjoon would turn to escort Seokjin with the gentlest of touches. The video caption said, eloquently, ‘hottest bodyguard in all of Korea’.

“No,” Tony says bitterly. “You just left without telling anyone where you were going, without any way for us to contact you.”
It stings, but it’s not untrue.
