On paper, Peter is, technically, a legitimate Stark Industries intern now. This whole visiting the tower every second weekend or so and actually getting to work with Tony Stark in his personal lab is a great improvement from being mostly-sort-of-ignored by Happy. And it’s not even all Spider-Man stuff! Which, okay, the Spider-Man stuff is definitely the coolest thing to tell Ned about and definitely the most important because it leads to him saving real, human lives - but this thing where Mr Stark seems willing (happy, even?) to just teach him about completely unrelated tech stuff? It makes it feel like Mr Stark isn’t just interested in spending time with Peter because he’s Spider-Man. Like he’s interested in spending time with Peter because he’s Peter. Which is honestly way more unbelievable and way more amazing than any of this superhero stuff.
But anyway, none of that is the point. The point is that Peter’s internship is 100% real.

“What are you doing here?” he asks when it becomes clear that Chris is too shocked to speak, and despite the delicious nectar of the gods he’s drinking, nothing can fully take away his irritation at the man in front of him.
The last time he’d seen Chris, he’d jumped down his throat about the whole Celina situation, and Tim is still just a tiny bit salty about it.
“Uh… what are you doing here?” Chris answers, and then his eyes flicker down Tim’s body and Tim has to admit that his presence and his current state of undress at Lucy’s apartment at six in the morning are rather damning. He’s barefoot, wearing only a pair of sweatpants that are hanging low on his hips. His chest is bare, his normally perfect hair a mess, and he knows for a fact that he’s at least half hard in his pants (without boxer briefs to help hide it) because he’s been thinking about Lucy all morning.
OR
Chris shows up at Lucy’s apartment. Tim answers the door.

Tim’s doorbell rings ten minutes after midnight, and he practically jumps up from where he’s been sitting on the couch, only half focused on the game while waiting for Lucy to come home. He walks quickly across the living room, his bare feet making soft noises on the floor, and he has to tamp down on his grin as he opens the door, ready to welcome Lucy home from her girl’s night out.
It’s Angela who greets him, though, and her grin is shit eating and her arms are full of one very drunk Lucy Chen.
“What the fuck,” he asks, and Lucy giggles as she launches herself from Angela’s arms and into his.
“Tiiiiiim!” she cries, and he huffs in amusement as she plasters herself against his body. Her hands are immediately tangled in his clothing, one tugging on his t-shirt while the other dips into the waistband of his sweats, and he squirms as she feels him up in front of one of their best friends.
“Hey, baby,” he greets, and Lucy grins, her cheeks flushed and her eyes glazed, as he leans down and kisses her on the forehead.

Lucy half heartedly flips Tim off, and Angela isn’t the only one staring now. Nyla, next to her, is repeatedly punching her shoulder, eyes wide and mouth open, and Angela laughs but shakes her head.

Dying felt a lot like falling.
Of course he’d read theories about what it might truly be like; some people said that it would be like floating, others like the slow dissipation of steam. Obi-Wan was falling.
It wasn’t the type of falling he would have first thought of, however. It was like walking down the stairs in the dark, and thinking there’s one less stair than there is: jarring at first- the unexpectedness making you seize up; then the fast swoop of your stomach making you dizzy; and finally what he expected to be the punched out relief as the adrenaline left his system, letting himself relax into the fall, leaving a calm shock draped over his shoulders like a blanket.
He never touched that cold relief. He just kept falling, and falling, and falling.
When his back finally hit the ground, Obi-Wan woke up.~
