Summary
A tired Jaina lingers in Icecrown after Arthas’ defeat, wandering aimlessly until she finds herself drawn to the top of the citadel. Through the snow and mist she sees someone standing at the edge. Dangerously close.
As implied by the title, this is an alternate take on the Warcraft short story ’Edge of Night’.

Summary
With the fall of Arthas Menethil, the infamous Lich King, the Scourge was left headless, but not toothless. They would always be a threat and so there must always be a Lich King.

Summary
Between the mana bomb, Aegwynn, and everything else absolutely crazy in her life, Jaina wasn’t sure why she wasn’t aging, just that she wasn’t. Confiding this in Vereesa leads to her spending time at Windrunner Spire. Unexpectedly, the renovated and remodeled spire isn’t just home to Vereesa and her boys, or even Alleria and Arator, but also to their last (un)living relative that Jaina has not seen since the realm of death.
Sylvanas has kept to herself since then, along with her conflicting feelings about the other part of her soul, but between Jaina's arrival and the Amani threat she won't be able to continue her melancholic solitude.

Summary
"“Tides, Jaina- look at us!” Vereesa gestured to the miserable huddle of elves around her, “One sharp breeze and we practically keel over, we simply don’t do cold- why do you think we are so tactile as a race, we need this to survive.”
Well. That explained a lot actually. The way Vereesa and her rangers always bunked together, how they constantly were touching a shoulder or an arm, sometimes simply burying a face into the crook of another’s neck. While it was partially true that they were all incredibly close, soldiers in arms for centuries, they most likely did it for the simple fact of keeping out the cold.
Did Sylvanas miss it- that tactile closeness? Did she share that need for social and physical comfort amongst her rangers or did she deny herself that simple pleasure as she did everything else. Somehow Jaina suspected it was the latter."
Summary: Set with a task of overseeing the building of permanent garrisons along the frigid borders of Dun Morogh Jaina ponders the tactile nature of elves and wonders if Sylvanas misses it.

Summary
The war has not gone well for anyone. The Alliance has three months left before collapse. The Horde is not much better off. With neither victory or death as options, Sylvanas proposes an alternative. A treaty, to ease tensions and open borders, with a political hostage to ensure that both sides stay in line. A marriage with many political implications and Sylvanas would only accept one person. Jaina Proudmoore.
And Jaina Proudmoore made for the perfect hostage. If the Alliance moves wrong, Jaina dies. The Horde attacks, and Jaina reduces Orgrimmar to a wisp of a memory in the minds of children.
Of course, no one expected Sylvanas and Jaina to be anything more than uneasy partners with each other, least of all Sylvanas and Jaina...

Summary
A decade ago, Jaina Proudmoore endured the humiliation of being left at the altar by the man she thought she wanted to marry. She’s made a new life for herself now, happy in the anonymity that her remote cabin north of Drustvar affords her. That is, until the very woman whom Jaina suspects convinced Arthas to call off the wedding, Sylvanas Windrunner, crashes back into her life, and Jaina realizes that she might be mistaken about what had happened.

Summary
Imagine, Sylvanas thinks, how merciful my death would've been had a Lich Queen been chosen over a King. Jaina Proudmoore has no need of a Banshee. I would have been slain cleanly, as would all of Azeroth. Efficiently.
"A marriage of state," says Jaina. "A mutual surrender for a mutual victory."

Summary
Sylvanas was sure she had taken herself off the table. She made quite the case for how terrible of a marriage partner she would make, even if it meant losing a bit of faith with the rest of the members of this new pact. Of course, even then, no one had expected Jaina to volunteer.

Summary
Nothing has gone according to plan. Sylvanas hasn't lost control of anything this badly since Arthas marched on Silvermoon, and it feels awfully familiar. Someone is sabotaging her. Lordaeron, Teldrassil, none of it was supposed to happen that way. With everyone in the Horde a suspect, Sylvanas reluctantly turns to the last person she ever expected to ask for help. But she gets a lot more in Jaina Proudmoore than she ever expected. And Jaina has secrets of her own.
Yet another political marriage AU, because clearly we can't get enough of them.

Summary
“Jaina looked from the head of the table to her left, at Anduin talking animatedly with Tyrande, and then to the empty seat at the other end. Its emptiness bothered her. In what way, she wasn’t sure. But, despite the atrocities the Banshee had committed, Jaina couldn’t help but feel like there was something very wrong about not seeing Sylvanas Windrunner and her cold, sarcastic arrogance there. The sour feeling in her gut became restlessness.”
When the Warchief of the Horde returns to her immediate arrest, Jaina finds herself wanting to figure out just what leads the Banshee Queen to make the decisions she makes — and ends up finding far more than she bargained for.

Summary
“Out of the question.” They had all lost their minds, she was sure of it. It had to be some sort of new Corruption; an unforeseen side effect from one too many close encounters with the Blight.
Anduin looked like a lost little boy, defeated and at a loss for how to console her. “It's not as if we've been left with much choice, Jaina.”
“It's preposterous.”
“It is our only hope.”
“Marriage —”
“A union between warring factions would seem to be a wise direction to start with, my lady. If peace is still what we seek.”
“Between the Alliance and the Horde??"

Jaina has spent most of her life on the sea. She knows the waves better than the lands of her home. She knew the lure of the ocean waves long before she knew the temptation of human touch.

Summary
A post Legion Azeroth. The causalities, destruction and desecration of the world bears heavy on everyone’s shoulders as the tentative hope for peace lays in the minds of all. It’s now up to the faction leaders to make it so as negotiations begin. A brighter future is within the grasp of both the Horde and Alliance, if only Jaina knew how much that future depended on her.
