Robert loved his father, he really did. But the only thing which could make the destruction of the Mech and his entire legacy worse, Robert decided, would be if his dad was here to see it. He might be temporarily retired as a superhero, drowning in thousands of dollars of credit card debt, fighting through chronic pain, unable to take revenge for his father’s killer, and working as the barely respected leader of a group of superpowered assholes… but at least he didn’t have to deal with that.
Or, Robert “Robbie” Robertson II gets transported to the future to witness his son at two steps above rock-bottom. Nobody takes it well.
Except Shroud. Shroud is having a fucking field day.

Summary
Flambae escapes from a party at Prism's place to go soak in the hot tub only to find it's already occupied by Robert. his attempts to spook the dispatcher into leaving end up creating something new and heavy between them that neither are ready to start exploring. (basically Chad just whips it out in a game of chicken and ends up getting off to Robert verbally degrading and then praising him. neither of them want to think about the aftermath)

After the "We Can Just Be Friends" Ending, SDN decides Mecha Man should do a press conference to answer some of the public's burning questions regarding his involvement in stopping Shroud and the Red Ring. Of course, Charles Kingsley is there and needs answers to the questions no one asked... because the questions are wildly out of pocket.
Robert understandably snaps.
Somehow being rage-baited to come out as bi on live TV is the least embarrassing part.

It was supposed to be funny.
A bribe to get Prism to go on a call she would rather die than do. It was barely memorable, but whatever it was had been enough to earn her stubborn refutes.
A joking, “I'll let you do my makeup after shift if you do this without insulting anyone there.” Like a peace offering, only coated in sarcasm. An olive branch promising his own humiliation.
Everyone had laughed, it got Prism to concede.
It had still been funny when Prism had the others over, had pulled out her entire makeup collection. Flambae had laughed, knowing for sure that Robert - normal, boring, probably straight Robert wouldn't be caught dead actually letting this happen.
Funnier still when Robert actually showed up himself, immediately being pulled into a circle consisting of only Prism and Malevola as Coupè had sequestered herself onto one of Prism's many plush couches to read more of her book.
It had stopped being funny after that.
