or: yushi and riku recently became roommates, and riku doesn't know that yushi is actually spiderman. obviously yushi's frequent injuries must come from his imaginary abusive boyfriend, right? riku is only concerned for yushi's safety as his best friend, really. he's only being a good friend, what do you mean he's in love with him?

However”—he holds up a hand to forestall what appears to be another torrent of words from Wei Ying—“I have been informed that a co-commentator is a requirement for the Olympic commentary job, and so I will make this situation work.”
Lan Zhan, popular figure skating commentator, reluctantly gains a co-commentator.

Thousands of years later, Wei Ying and Lan Zhan have a senior thesis in cultivation to co-write on the Yiling Patriarch. It doesn’t go exactly how they were expecting.

Everyone’s always said his name is unlucky. This is the first time it’s worked out in his favor. It’s not a coincidence either; apparently his mother thought it would be funny. Mrs. Yu had told him that with a curl in her lip, as if it didn’t make him wish he knew his parents even more.
