Summary

Summary
Lorenz Hellman Gloucester is noble, rich, morally upright, and overly uptight. If he gets any more tightly wound, he’s going to pull something.
Leonie Pinelli is a commoner, poor, practical, and completely lacking in romance. If her feet were any more firmly on the ground, she’d be in it. Like a potato.
“As if you wouldn’t relish the opportunity to wrestle a bear,” Lorenz accused.
“How great would that be?” Leonie asked.
“Terrible,” Lorenz informed her. Leonie shrugged and kicked her feet lazily.
“Did you get all the dances you wanted?”
“I did,” Lorenz said. “And before you ask, my dance with Marianne was simply divine.”
“I’m glad. You gonna marry her?”
It was easier to be honest in the darkness. “It’s hard to say."
An unexpected friendship becomes rather something more through bad haircuts, shared food, and a continent-spanning war. OR: two dunderheads grow up, experience Emotions, and eventually get a clue.
