Subspace blinks at him. Expecting something else, and Medkit sighs. Giving it in. “Aren’t those crowded? Don’t like it.”
“Do you like anything?” He complains sourly. Does he? Medkit wasn’t sure.
“We just… Don’t have to do everything together.”

Summary
A quick secondchance oneshot, where Chance hosts a game night in the cabin, every survivor participating in casino games late into the night. With no money to bet, Chance doesn't think it's as fun as it could be, but they all still have a blast. Each survivor ends up leaving to sleep, one by one, until Two Time and Chance are the only two left at the table.
Despite his previous promise of no stakes, Chance offers a bet.

“Hey, Two Time. Saw you walk out of the cabin and wanted to see if you were ok. You looked…upset.”
Two Time mustered up a smile. The Church had always subtly pressured its members to appear happy at all times, regardless of their circumstances. “Thank you for your kindness, but I’m feeling ok. You can go back to the others. Don’t worry about me.”
Chance hesitated for a second before coming closer, pulling up their pant legs before sitting next to Two Time, flinching a bit at the coolness of the water. “Don’t lie to me. You’ve barely been able to keep up that smile all day. What’s bothering ya?”
Two Time and Chance talk near the sea.

“Y’see, me and Dusekkar have been working on a little project…” Chance went off on a lengthy tangent about quality of life and how feeling good makes you good at surviving, chattering animatedly as Two Time’s mind slipped away. Chance was liked by all but known by none, always showing up with a game and a smile but slinking away with an excuse if anyone asked him if he was alright. Why had he started confiding in them?
“So… you in?”
“I see no reason as to why I should not. The Spawn had always approved of helping others, and our allies will be pleased to see a break in the routine.”
“Now we’re talking!” Chance’s grin stretched bigger, playfully slinging an arm around Two Time’s neck. “Watch out, ocean! You’ve got a pair of lean, mean, oyster machines on the loose!”

“Ah, upsetting indeed…” They start staring up at him at that once again, and this time, the unease begins to set in for them. Two Time blinks, twice, “Do you want it back to how it was then, Chance?”
“Huh, guess it’d be nice.” He blankly states, figuring Two Time’d asked for the sake of it. Oddly, they perk up at his response.
