If she was cold before, the blood in her veins was frozen solid, now. Silco’s face started to drain of colour and her gaze trailed down at the knife embedded into the wood of the desk.
If she looked close, she could see a slight stain on the polished metal.
She felt the metal injector slip from her fingers and clatter to the floor.
“Jinx,” he said, his hands all but locking around her arm. “You…you have to understand. Everything I did, was for Zaun – for you.” She felt tears sting the corners of her eyes.
“You killed him.”
He hesitated.
Jinx ripped herself out of his grip and ran.
Or; Silco, while being interrogated by Jinx about her sister, accidentally lets it slip that he was the one to kill Vander – not her. Jinx, understandably, does not take it well.

Inside, were three kids. A pink-haired girl stood in front, two boys behind her, and her arms out as if to shield them. For a second, all of them shared the same expression, something resembling a deer in the headlights. Then, another one came running, a little girl with bright blue hair tripping over her bag as she barreled into the pink-haired girl, almost knocking her off her feet and breaking the awkward eye contact she and Jayce were sharing. He glanced down, and inhaled sharply. From the girl’s bag a soft blue glow had caught his eye.
Hex Crystals.

Nico was resilient.
He was ten and ninety. His birth certificate most likely read ‘presumed dead’. There was no one left in the world from his time who would remember him. He didn’t know anything that happened during World War II, only that they lost. Mamma was dead. So was Nonno and Nonna.
Even Bianca.
The river Lethe may have tried to take his memories of a past that Nico had no intention of losing, but nothing could ever take away the devastation he felt as his world crashed around him in this day and age.
(Nico had stubbornness in spades, and children of Hades were well renowned for their bitterness.)

Nico did run away from his past.
Thalia stuck out her hand. “Anyways, you’re a demigod, like us. We should stick together.”Basically, I wanted a BAMF Nico di Angelo time travel with actual changes to the timelines and major ripple effects! Self-indulgent for sure, since I want to redeem all my favourite characters! What if Nico went back in time to the lotus casino, and snuck out just a bit earlier?

This is annoying for several reasons, like the fact that the War is still ongoing, that he has zero friends, and that Ozai is not in jail.

James Potter dies. He dies before he even hits the ground, after taking the Unforgivable he was expecting to the chest; he dies and his murderer shakes off the mild effort of facing a wizard who would have been a formidable opponent if he hadn’t been wandless, steps over the corpse like it’s a questionable puddle, and absentmindedly taps his wand against his thigh as he climbs the stairs and listens to terrified whispers of a mother.
And somewhere, buried deep behind protective curses and endless books and thirty-five years of loyalty, three separated objects seem to blink.James dies. Or he doesn't. Either way, being legally dead but not actually dead is kind of a hassle, getting his best friend out of jail is as well, and let's not even talk about the difficulty of preventing multiple murders by controlling his temper.
