On New Years' Day, 1990, four-months-pregnant Chrissy Cunningham reconnects with a familiar face from her past at a time when she needs him the most.

From being cursed by some sort of otherworldly wizard from what she had come to know as the ‘Upside Down’ by her new set of unforeseen but entirely welcomed friends, to seeking out the local ‘cult-leading’ drug dealer to see if he could help relieve some of the stress she was under from said curse, to going on the run with said drug dealer after some major miscommunication, to fighting off against ‘demobats’ in the aforementioned ‘Upside Down’ – yeah, it’s safe to say that this wasn’t how Chrissy Cunningham had pictured the last few months of her senior year.
And now here she was, standing in front of the full length mirror in her bedroom, flattening out her bubblegum-pink prom dress that she’d had in tow for at least a year prior to any of these events. It was almost jarring – how could things be so normal, and yet… nothing could ever truly be normal again?
Chrissy prepares for prom while thinking about what her life has become.

She’d shown up at a drug dealer's house, unannounced in the middle of the night, months after the place was raided. If she had bothered to text, he would have ignored it like he’d been fucking ignoring her messages for months, or he could have told her to stay the fuck away.
Lexi can’t decide which would have been worse, both options completely undesirable in their own ways. At least she’d grown accustomed to the silent treatment.
“Lex,” he replies in that low way of his that had never failed to curl her toes earlier this year.

Summary
Chrissy Cunningham has been having migraines and nightmares for weeks now. Seeking relief, she puts a note in Eddie Munson’s locker, hoping to buy from him. Maybe drugs will help her relax so she can finally sleep.
What starts as a simple drug deal should stay a simple drug deal. Chrissy isn’t looking for a friend, or anything more. But when things start to get worse, not just for her, but for the town, she finds herself turning to one person who never judged or pressured her into being something that she’s not.
Then a Hawkins High student is brutally murdered and all hell breaks loose.
(A ST4 reimagining, with Vecna torturing his victims for months before spring break, fleshing out the other victims storylines and layering in as much angst and trauma as I can. Topped off with a happy ending.)

“Because you’re the one who’s hurt.” She reaches out tentatively, her fingers the barest touch beneath his black eye.

Jason gives Eddie a black eye after he learns that Chrissy went to him for weed. Chrissy, in response, decides enough is enough and breaks things off. The next day she arrives with an apology and Eddie finds himself pulled into her gravity.
