The sound that escapes Occtis's mouth is completely unintentional, a crack in the perfect self-control of death. A small squeak, utterly undignified - but more than enough to send Julien scrambling upright, hissing in shock.
"You are awake, Tachonis."
Uh-oh. He sounds venomous. It's the tone of teachers, and parents, and figures of authority. The tone that means you've gone and done it now, boy. When Occtis was younger, he never understood what the it in question was. Now, dead nerve endings tingle, trying valiantly to paint his face with an embarrassed flush. The pieces of the equation he's been missing fall into place.
Oh, no. Oh, fuck. He's miscalculated. Badly. He knows this it a bit too well.
Occtis can't sleep anymore.
He hasn't mentioned this fact to his companions.

Summary
William got to his feet and turned around, prayer book clutched to his chest. Michael was standing in the center of the chapel, obviously just come from sparring practice. He was still wearing his dented cuirass, a leather pauldron on his right shoulder. The moonlight through the stained-glass windows painted him in blue and gold.
“Forgot to leave your armor behind in the gymnasium?” asked William lightly, skirting around him to set the prayer book back in its tabernacle.
“Something like that,” said Michael. He stepped out of the shaft of light, joining William at the perimeter of the circular room.
William closed the ornate wooden door of the tabernacle and turned to face him. “How did you know I’d be here?”
“I know you,” Michael said simply. I love you, he might as well have said, for the way it sent William’s heart skittering inside his chest.
Michael has been betrothed to the princess since their infancy. But it’s her brother he really wants.

Shane swallows, rolling his eyes as his head drops. “Fuck off.”
Ilya pushes himself off from the wall, the heels of his shoes clicking against the tile. Shane doesn’t even fight it when Ilya takes his chin between his fingers, blissfully suffocated by the alpha’s proximity.

Seth Domade was a quiet, unassuming man. He spent most of his days editing volumes in the Cobalt Soul’s library, and he looked the part.

Summary
Essek Thelyss is back on the grid after a few years away from racing. Despite his record five championship wins, he can't seem to get past P10 in the Driver's Standings, no matter how hard he tries. Despite wanting to put distance between himself and racing, he can't help but work on the pet project he keeps in the back of the garage: a refurbished F1 car. When a disgraced F1 driver visits the garage in the middle of the F1 summer break, Caleb's past collides with his present in an unprecedented way.

Orym was so lovely. He deserved so many wonderful things.
Another shaky breath allowed him to wrestle the words out of his mind and into the air. “I- I’m not…” He wheezed, “I’m not really… myself? At the moment?” His eyes focused on the wood grain of his lute, needing something visual to entertain his restless brain. Black to grey to white hair was falling into his vision. He didn’t have the energy to fix it.
“Okay,” Orym replied solemnly. There was no ‘I know,’ or ‘what does that mean,’ or ‘get over it.’ He could cry. He already was, probably. “Is there anything I can do? To help you get back to you?” His hair was fixed for him. The amount of love the gesture showed made him uncomfortable, but not because he didn’t like it.
