Xiao Zhan took a breathing pause that was just a second too long. "There's no benefit to you knowing the truth," he said quietly, realizing that these words should never have left his mouth the moment he spoke them.
And she had clearly noticed his hesitation. "What truth?" she asked pointedly.
"It's nothing."
"Then why do I get the feeling you're hiding something?"
Their relationship has always been a secret and so has their break-up. It wasn't pretty, and they both handled it by completely avoiding each other since then. But now, a year later, the past is catching up with them.
