Shane’s face burns. He can feel it creeping up his neck, warming his cheeks, hot and humiliating. He has been scrambling for a way out, not realising he was only digging himself even deeper. There is no way he can laugh this off anymore, he knows. Not a single chance of escape, but because his body betrays him—his hand drifts down, fingertips brushing over his stomach as if the mere thought alone could make sense if Ilya could see where he would go. “Yeah,” he whispers. “In here.”
Where there is a will, there is a way. Or so they say.

“Shane.”
Shane sighs. “Can we not do this? Please.”
