Abby's face tightened as she tried not to think about the last image of him she had burnt in her mind. Broken and bloody and ugly, because of her. She was about to say something, probably something to excuse herself for having asked, before Ellie beat her on it.
“Do you think about him?” Ellie asked as her fingers grazed the page. Abby almost choked on her words as she tried to reply, but Ellie spoke again.
“Your dad, I mean” the girl looked up from the page behind her shoulder, glancing at Abby with her eyes slightly lucid again. -

The Fireflies were still somewhere in California, so close she could almost see their symbol spray painted on a wall. It was burnt in some deep part of her mind since the first time she had seen it as a child.
“I'll be there… to watch your back” Ellie imperceptibly bit her lower lip and Abby noticed. Her heart skipped a beat — albeit she wanted to ignore it she couldn't for some reason. She stopped wondering what could be going through Ellie's mind and instead replied with a simple “I know”
Abby hasn't given up on finding the Fireflies and Ellie has nothing left but the will to make a vaccine real.

There was something raw in Vi’s gaze, uncensored as if Caitlyn could read her mind. Caitlyn felt suddenly overwhelmed. It was so normal to stand in front of Vi, yet the look on the other girl's face was something she had never seen — she looked like she was silently begging for the smallest hint of approval, a sign that she wasn't mad at her.Vi gets drunk during a formal gathering in the Kiramman estate, but Caitlyn just can't stay mad at her.
