“So I can meet my end there, instead? Your optimism is… astonishing."
“You can't die, Thranduil.”
Thranduil almost laughs again in his pain-hazed delirium. He is speaking with all the clarity of a drunkard, now— a comparison more apt than he'd like to admit. “Does this look like a healthy wound to you? Every minute the contaminant remains in my body, the poison spreads. It will kill me, Dragonslayer, it does not need your permission for that.”
or: Thranduil has sex again. Bard is just trying to save his life.

Summary
When a fateful encounter reunites newly-widowed Bard with the stripper from his best friend's bachelorette party - also a single father - an impulse offer begins a decade of friendship neither would have anticipated. But when Thranduil's past comes back to haunt him in the form of an unexpected visitor, he and Bard begin a farce that might become more complicated than they originally thought.

1.) Thranduil is a stripper in another country and Bard gets a dance from him when there for a Bachelor's party. Years later they end up in the same place.
2.) Thranduil's partner left him and baby Legolas. When she tries to get back in their life years later, Thranduil says he is in a relationship with his best friend Bard. "I am considering," Thranduil continues, still stroking his arm, "a few…alternative ideas, but I wanted to know if you would be open to exploring, ah…" he hesitates. "Gender," he says at last.
"Gender?" repeats Bard automatically. "I hardly know 'er!"
He's immediately forced to roll away, protecting his face with his arms, to avoid being suffocated with Thranduil's pillow.
"I have changed my mind," Thranduil tells him, sulkily. "Maybe you are not deserving of librarian role play after all."Or, Thranduil gets reading glasses and they do sex about it.

Summary

Haunted by memories of his own past, he keeps his head down and adheres to the rigid structure of his work, until he discovers a tortured creature who reminds Wriothesley of the horrors he once endured himself. The sight ignites a spark in him, and he becomes determined to free the creature, believing it might also liberate him from the shackles of his own history.

I don't usually read G-rated fic, but this one was very sweet and written well!
