Summary
Samantha gets to her feet gingerly, wincing whenever she puts pressure on her foot. Still, a broken ankle is something she’ll take in stride if it means she survived a plane crash. Aching all over, she presses a hand to the right side of her face and makes a noise low in her throat when she feels the bones shifting.
“That’s not good,” she mumbles as she feels her eye bulging in the socket. She turns, trying to find a heading and instead finding a body not even half a foot away. It’s a woman, she realizes, dark hair matted with blood to a face with the upper right side completely caved in, left arm lying a few feet away in a mud puddle. The next thing she realizes is the dead woman is her. “Okay, well, that’s worse.”
“You look like shit, babe.”

Arthur gives him the same look Libby gave Cook the first time he tried to explain the intricacies of Star Trek—a little on the blank side, completely uncomprehending, and the left eye twitching. “You know, P.K. Agents, wraiths…. Libby, you wanna help me out here?”
“Arthur, have you ever seen that Ghost Hunters show on Syfy?” Arthur nods, looking as though he was contemplating what little sanity Libby had left. It wasn’t much, if she was being completely honest here. “Alright, well, it’s kind of like that except not at all.”
“Jesus, you suck at this.”
“I’m traumatized, assface! I don’t have to be good at exposition.”

When Derek was dispatched to the monster infested village of Beacon Hills with an order to keep the Prince alive until the vampires could be killed, he never imagined the other man to have so sharp a tongue or a penchant for getting captured.
“Why do you refuse to follow any of my orders,” Derek demands, glaring over at the pale man a few feet away from him. Stiles had his hands planted firmly on his hips and the same stubborn set to his jaw that Derek had admired in the portrait he’d seen in the Vatican. Now, however, it just made him want to knock the Prince out and lock him in a closet for an hour, so he could deal with Deucalion in peace.
“Because your orders are ridiculous and so are your eyebrows,” Stiles shoots back, practically hissing. Had this not been an argument about the Prince’s safety, then Derek would probably find the flush coloring his cheeks attractive, but, no, he needed to focus.

Or the Van Helsing AU where Derek has to keep Prince Stiles alive and Prince Stiles seems to have a knack for getting kidnapped by vampires. -
