Summary
The bush rustles again, and Regulus lets the arrow fly.
Just as his fingers leave the string, someone steps out of the trees— hand snapping up to close around the arrow right before it strikes him in the chest. He’s slightly taller than Regulus, with dark curls and bronzed skin. He wears a quiver across his back and a lyre at his hip. Soft, golden brown eyes set into a face that adorns thousands of temples flick up to meet Regulus’s, filled with a jovial warmth.
“Trying to kill me already, love?”
Regulus takes a step back. Then another.
Because that’s James.
The sun god.
And he just caught the arrow Regulus aimed for his heart.Or an Apollo/Hyacinthus retelling starring James as Apollo, Regulus as Hyacinthus, and Barty as Zephyrus. Also ft. Remus as Regulus's personal guard and Sirius as the exiled heir to the throne. Riddled with inaccuracies but fun nevertheless.
