“That’s different.” Cafe says. “You’re Tachyon’s junior. Of course, you’ll be here.”
Scarlet looks at her knowingly. Scarlet’s eyes are a much brighter red than Tachyon’s that it looks almost pink. Still, it sometimes looks like hers, especially when she’s assessing something. Cafe feels as if she’s currently being assessed by Scarlet right now.
“Are you jealous, Cafe-san?” Scarlet says, a gossipy look on her face.
Cafe feels herself turn red and hot at the insinuation.

Rice is camping out on her own in the maybe-haunted definitely-abandoned stables at the very back of the school grounds, yet to be renovated and free for her to use. She didn't completely disappear. She made sure to tell Hishiama, just so someone responsible knows where she is.
She didn't count on Bourbon tracking her down and interrupting her. But maybe she should have. Bourbon always seems to find her, after all.
