Summary

Summary
The hood falls from Merlin’s head, and those same piercing blue eyes stare up at him, a burning defiance lit behind them even as he obeys.
He doesn’t lower his eyes in the face of Arthur’s rage, he continues to hold his gaze when he should be lowering them in deference to his station, and when he speaks his tone is as full of insolence as it ever was. “As you wish, sire.”
Arthur’s hand tightens where it still grasps Merlin’s shoulder, pinning him in place, keeping him from disappearing. He’s struck by the urge to pin him down like a lepidopterist's specimen, wings spread and suspended forever, just for Arthur.
