"Fuck no," Phil uttered, leaving the bills scattered around him as he stood up from the couch. He went to his room, opened the cabinet and stared at what was inside. There laid three boxes and one opaque pouch, all of them having one thing in common.
Those were Christmas gifts for the boys.
Considering two pairs of earrings already lightened his wallet a hefty amount, he thought of giving them a singular earring each. This way, they all could match. But the fourth one wouldn't be used by anybody. Phil figured he'd keep it, just in case one of the boys accidentally lost theirs.
(He didn't like to think how the fourth one would perfectly suit him. Two pairs, four earrings in total, four of them in their silly friend group.
Key word being friend. Techno, Wil and Tommy were family, so it was only fair for them to have matching jewellery. Phil didn't want them to get the wrong idea.
Oh, but how he wanted to.
That’s just pathetic, really. He was in his forties- he should’ve started building his own family ages ago.
He never succeeded. Nothing lasted.)
