It would be so easy to turn around and finally embrace Nicholas after all this time, even if it meant damning him— hasn't he been damned already? Euijoo has played by the rules over and over, and each time Nicholas is dragged back into the depths of the cave anyway; it has become clear that Euijoo cannot save him.
