Jamie fucking Tartt is sitting next to him, smiling.
“What the fuck is he doing here?” Roy asks, simmering with rage, and a fast-approaching, overwhelming sense of dread.
“I had to invite your boyfriend,” Phoebe says, like it’s the most obvious fucking thing in the world.
Roy hears his sister let out an extremely loud snort. She’s smiling behind a hand covering her mouth, her patented Kent eyebrows raised as she looks at him. She makes no move to correct her daughter. Roy considers fratricide.

And yes, Steve realizes how ridiculous that sounds, considering that his two best friends in the world are a ridiculously hyperactive fifteen year old boy, and a socially awkward weirdo who can’t keep her mouth shut to save her life. Not to mention all the rest of the five children that Steve now feels personally responsible for, Jesus Christ, when did Steve’s life start to involve this much babysitting? He used to be cool. He secretly still thinks he is, even if he’s chauffeuring around a bunch of kids more often than not these days. But anyway.

It’s been two months since Stede has returned to the Revenge, and he and Ed have not yet had sex. This is fine. He’d be content just to stay by Ed’s side forever in a perfectly platonic fashion, if that’s what Ed wanted. Ed had made it abundantly clear that he does not desire a platonic relationship, though.
The real issue, Stede thinks, is that whenever it seems like it’s happening, something goes wrong.

I should have seen this coming, Poe thinks after the fact, when everything is quiet and the only thing he can hear is his own uneven breathing. It was too easy. He plays it over and over in his head, trying to figure out how he missed it. But, the truth of the matter is, he did miss it, along with everyone else.

House raised his eyebrows. “Ooh, testy today.”
Cheap wine and sandy skin and House’s general jack-assery fizzled at his nerves. He had meant it before; he didn’t understand this game, and he wasn’t particularly interested in playing. Better to cut it off at the pass. He let out a sigh and asked, “Alright, how’d you know?”
That grin was back. House settled further into the couch, already gloating a little.
“Know what?”
Wilson glanced at the asses. For strength.
“That I sleep with men.”
