But when Jee laughs at him trying to get his tongue to touch his nose, and Mara loops one of her arms through his to keep him from tossing the rest of his cup in the garbage, Eddie feels solid again.
Maybe he likes yellow birthday cake ice cream after all.
(or, gerrard messes with the team's schedules and eddie 'i just drove my son to flee the state' diaz is the only option to watch mara and jee-yun after school on tuesdays, which, shouldn't be a problem at all, right?)

Kiyoomi closes his eyes, slowly. He prays that the ground opens up and swallows him whole. He prays that a whole earthquake rocks Tokyo and brings the place down on him, specifically. He prays that some higher power decides to strike him with lightning right this minute.
“Actually,” he says, grinding it out through clenched teeth, “you haven’t seen any other kids around, have you?”
It's Kiyoomi's last resort to ask a stranger for help finding his sister's missing kids, but it's not like this night can get any weirder, and Miya Atsumu's kind of hot.

Every summer, Naruto visits the sleepy beach town of Oceanview. Easily the best part of the trip is the carnival, set up for three days at the end of August. As summers pass, Naruto finds himself coming back again and again to see the boy at the end of the boardwalk. First, he wants to win the game the boy runs, but it turns into wanting to win Sasuke's heart instead. For some reason, Naruto just can't get him out of his head.

Yorknew was a vile city.
But from these depths rose a - hero was not the right word. The have-nots loved him and the haves feared him, hated him, wondered who this mole was in their ranks who took the upper echelon’s dirty laundry and flung it out to dry. Backroom deals and recordings made it to the paper. Especially corrupt or violent officials were left strung up (alive, though he didn’t seem to care much if they lasted or not) with clippings of their wrongdoings fluttering around them.
To some, he was a folk hero. To others, he was a nightmare given flesh. To all he was a reckoning dressed in black and silver and red.
He signed his letters and elaborately staged scenes with Bloody Chain.

one of my favourite fics, by far. i had a brief hyperfixation on pacific rim last year, just before being consumed by ace attorney, so this really is a specific niche for me. but this is truly, unironically better than the actual pacific rim movies- and miles better than the book. i laughed and i cried- boy, did i cry. it was a well crafted story that developed the ace attorney characters in a different setting and i adored it with every ounce of my heart. the twists and the turns were reminiscent of canon ace attorney and i was wholly invested in everything.
