Summary
Lena and Kara are a happy married couple until Lex's return. He escaped his jail and he decided to destroy National City to take his revenge against aliens. He planned everything and things turned bad for Supergirl. Lex did not let her the choice, she has to make a sacrifice to save her love ones. She is the sacrifice. The last fight against Lex and his sbires took an unfortunate turn and Kara die because of bullets made of Kryptonite.
One year later, Kara wokes up in her grave, her powers almost back. All she wants to do is to find Lena.
Lena moved to another city, with their dog Krypto, because National City reminds her of Kara too much. She doesn't live anymore, she just survived, trying to honor the promise they made with Kara, to protect the aliens. And one night, past midnight, Kara knocks at Lena's door. Messy rainy hair because she did not recover her ability to fly yet. And they look in each other eyes. And Lena knows that this is not a joke, Kara is back.Series

So, 3x09 had me angry, but also happy (only because Reign was badass.) The fight scene was wicked and one of my favorites. I think that Supergirl getting her butt kicked was just awesome, it sucked, but still. Awesome. Also, Lena and James DO NOT BELONG TOGETHER. Yep, I said it. James never trusted Lena and then they kiss? Yeah no. Hence, the amount of angst I'm putting in this. But I believe it will be well worth it. I also put my own twist, so some things are not going to match the timeline of the episode, but that's the brilliance of it being my story, so I hope you enjoy it. Thank you.

When Lena rescues Kara from a night out it results in Lena learning the truth of Supergirl's real identity. She vows to help in any way she can, in order to keep Kara and Supergirl alive.
This story starts out with mutual pining from afar, but progresses into something else. I'm sorry that the summary kind of sucks. Please give the story a chance!

Summary
Due to an accident, Lena can't remember the past eight years of her life. The last thing she remembers was being in college, dating Kara. When she asks the doctor to call Kara and sees her with two children, she of course assumes they'd gotten married and had children.
Kara hadn't seen Lena in eight years after they split up. To avoid shocking Lena with the truth, she is advised to go along with her version of reality for a little while, until she'd be stable enough to hear the truth. As a widow, it isn't easy to pretend she's happily married.
How is she ever going to tell Lena they're not married and that her children aren't hers? And not to forget, how is she going to hide being Supergirl while her children have powers, too?

Kara is looking at her with such care and she doesn't deserve it. Doesn't deserve any of it. No one has ever loved her, and maybe there's a good reason. There has to be.
Lena's free hand clenches into a fist.

Her body tilts, bends as she stumbles, feet suddenly heavy and numbing. Her eyes squint, a hand raising to touch her head. The other drops to her abdomen, fills with thick blood. She coughs, shakes, the strain is too great for her weakening muscles and bones and joints; and then, she falls.
She falls and they realize the bullet aimed at Alex was meant for Kara the whole time."

The familiar sound of heels tapping on the cold tile of Lena's office was music to Kara's ears. She zoned in on the Luthor and just stared at her, completely and utterly lost for words as the woman dressed in her usual tight black skirt and loose blouse came to greet Kara with a quick hug. Luthor's were good at making Supers powerless—but not like this.
"Hello, Kara. Thank you for coming on such short notice." Lena leaned back, hands still gripping the reporters' elbows.
Kara ducked her head and smiled, painfully aware of the feeling of Lena's hips underneath her fingers. "It's not a problem."
Or, Lena owes Cat Grant an in-depth interview and calls Kara into her office to help prepare.
And what Lena didn’t expect was Kara Danvers not realizing the single friend Lena talked about having romantic feelings for in the interview was Kara Danvers herself, and winds up just flat-out telling Kara because, wow, she was oblivious.
