Summary
When his eyes meet Tommy’s, there’s nothing there. No anger or excitement or sadness. He has a vacant look in his eyes, like he’s not even there.
“...Tommy-” Wilbur begins hesitantly, approaching the bed, but the teen notices the still-lit cigarette lazily pinched between his fingers, and a scowl quickly forms.
“Put - put that shit out-” Tommy erupts into an intense bout of coughs, and all Wilbur can do is sit watching, frozen, until he has half a mind to drop the cigarette and stomps it out under his boot, driving it into the grooves of the cobblestone.
Or, Wilbur tries to make amends with Tommy, but he’s a little too late

Tommy rolls his eyes and scoffs, giving the human an entirely unimpressed look. “Listen, bud, I don’t know who the fuck you’ve been talking to, but we’re not a bunch of pussies. Especially not me, I’m a big-”
The human cuts him off. “I know, a big man. You’ve mentioned that. I suppose I shouldn’t make assumptions,” he tilts his head, looking at Tommy curiously once more. “Why don’t you tell me more about yourself then?”
Tommy, a Hunter in training, has been hearing music coming from outside of his home in the Oak. One day, the fairy can't resist the urge to leave, and while his mentor is sick, he slips out and runs into a cat, but he is saved by the youngest resident of the house, a young man by the name of Wilbur.
