Summary
Harry just wants to have a quiet life and get along with everyone. He wants to be normal, and accepted. Being “normal” for the Dursleys yielded great results in improving his standard of living, and as he heads off to Hogwarts he still retains that impulse to keep his head down and blend in. Of course, life isn’t as simple as that, and Harry is a magnet for trouble. And what does "normal" really mean, anyway? The pure-bloods in his group of friends think he should learn more about their culture and religion if he wants to fit in.

Harry is gaslit and indoctrinated by the Dursleys into wants to be completely and utterly normal. He’s a pacifist and people pleaser, and listens to petunia’s dire warnings about the ugly side of the wizarding world.
*SPOILERS AHEAD* I summarize unfinished fics so I can differentiate them when I come back to it.
Upon being forced to go to Hogwarts, he befriends Neville and Hermione, and a bunch of Slytherins including Draco and Pansy, upon discovering a distant connection to the Párkinson family on his mothers side.
He’s NOT your brave Gryffindor hero— he’s an aspiring healer, just wants to stay out of the fight, going so far as to enter into a truce with Voldemort himself in exchange for his friends’ safety, after befriending “Quirrell” in his first year and maintaining a correspondence once he absconds with the (fake) stone.
Heir of Slytherin, a mosaic of Merlin himself in the chamber of secrets hangs out with him, some (justified) Ron Weasley bashing, he gets to be Hogwarts only (and popularly supported) triwizard champion, he does muggle correspondence courses in addition to Hogwarts stuff, pagan celebrations are illegal and he learns/practices them illegally with other students, REALLY good commentary on magical racism/blood purity, Lots of pure blood politics, dark creature rights, newt scamander shows up, SPEW becomes the HELP society and is actually popular/effective/well researched.

UNFINISHED WITH NO PLANS TO RETURN. Author left a final chapter saying what would have happened it JKR wasn't such a shitstain.
8 year old Harry figured out he can talk to snakes, and makes friends with the ones in his neighborhood. And magical ashwinder/boomslang mix approaches him to help her give birth (she needed magical fires) and he adopts one of her brood as his familiar—Jax.
Now aware that he’s a wizard, he also manages to bus to another town over and find work (under a false identity) at an apocathary with Mr. Jacobi, who further informs him about the wizarding world.
Stuff happens, he runs away from the dursleys, he’s smart, goes to Hogwarts, sorted into Slytherin, and Snape figures out he’s been abused. They get the dursleys sent to Azkaban and Snape takes temporary guardianship.
Eventual Snape adoption, it’s heartwarming and I love it. Snape and Lupin get together. Harry x Blaise. Asexual Harry. No ron/Hermione bashing, they’re eventual friends, just not super close, but I like how they’re handled fairly realistically. Dumbledore is awful but not cartoonishly so like in other fics.

Albus Dumbledore rose to his feet, smiling at them in that way of his, like he knew something you didn't and he was proud of you for it. "Friends," he began.
The door thudded open and the Marauders burst in, late and pink-cheeked with cold. The headmaster smiled at them, too, and Sirius gave a cheery little salute back.
Severus sunk lower in his chair, staring witheringly over his butterbeer. "You told Potter about it, too?"
"He might as well put all that energy to good use," said Lily. "And, to be accurate, I told Remus."
"But Potter, really?" said Severus.
"He and Black cooked up a jinx that gives you a boil every time you say a slur to a Muggleborn," said Lily. "It was either invite them to Alice's war club or bake them cookies, and I know where my skills lie."
Severus sniffed. "Don't come crying to me if he tugs your pigtails."
"Come crying to me if he pulls yours, and I'll deck him," said Lily.
(Slight AU in which Severus apologizes, tries harder, and stays friends with Lily)

Bookmarker's Notes
Nothing changes about the outcome of the books (snape still dies in the same way), but it's a poetic and flowing prose POV of the entire series from snape who is hiding and keeping his distance and pretending to hate. It's sad, but sweet.
