Summary
For eight months, fantasy author Gale Dekarios has dropped everything (including his self-respect) whenever real estate agent Astarion Ancunín texts. It’s strictly casual—no strings, no acknowledgment, definitely no feelings.
Until Gale asks for more and walks away when Astarion can’t deliver.
Now on a six-week book tour, Gale’s terrifyingly efficient publicist is busy transforming him from “academic fashion disaster” to trending “BookTok thirst trap.” As #ProfessorDekarios battles his newfound status as #FantasyDaddy, he’s attracting unexpected attention—from an environmental lawyer with perfect ethics to a firefighter with perfect abs—and discovering that being genuinely seen by the world feels better than he ever imagined.
Meanwhile, Astarion is absolutely NOT stalking Gale’s social media, NOT reevaluating his life choices at 2 AM, and certainly NOT realizing that losing someone hurts infinitely more than risking vulnerability.
Sometimes, walking away is the only way to find out what’s truly worth returning to—preferably with a publicist-approved glow-up.

Summary
Sword Coast Connect™ is the leading (and most aggressively incompetent) telecom and internet service provider.
Gale Dekarios, Tech Support Team Lead, believes in ethical customer service.
Astarion Ancunín, Retention Team Lead, believes in lying creatively until the customer stops trying to cancel. The queue times are unholy.
The QA system is rigged. And now, Gale and Astarion are trapped in an eternal corporate battle for dominance.
This is the Baldur’s Gate 3 Call Center AU that absolutely no one asked for, but it’s happening anyway.
"Darling," Astarion drawled, somehow managing to look both bored and intently focused on Gale's slightly-too-enthusiastic gesturing, "while your dedication to detail is... fascinating, some of us have actual metrics to maintain. Unless your latest tome on ethical problem-solving has a chapter on why customers love me and not you?"
Gale’s nostrils flared, but his voice remained perfectly professional. “Oh, I’m sorry. Did you need the remedial version? I can add pictures.”
Through the glass walls, Karlach choked on her coffee. Shadowheart, still filing her nails, murmured, “Oh, that was hot.”

Summary
Baldur’s Gate’s most feared food critic meets a chef who absolutely ruins his ability to be professional. Astarion should be writing a scathing review. Instead, he’s writing what are essentially love letters disguised as food critiques while losing his mind over Gale’s devastating knife skills.
(Modern AU – No Vampires, Just Restaurants, Culinary Tension, and a Kitchen Staff That Has Had Enough of These Two.)
"You see," Gale explained enthusiastically, those damnably capable hands demonstrating his latest technique, "the key is knowing exactly when to apply pressure. Too soon, and you'll ruin the delicate balance. Too late, and you'll miss the perfect moment of... release."
Astarion took a very large sip of wine, his enhanced elven senses picking up every nuance of both the vintage and Gale's intoxicating proximity.
He had spent centuries perfecting his poise. A life of control, of calculated indulgence, of knowing precisely when to give and when to take. And yet, he was gripping the edge of the counter like a man drowning in the very thing he had spent weeks pretending not to crave.

Summary
Gale Dekarios had spent decades writing letters to prepare Astarion for the inevitable day they would part, imagining his words being read centuries later, echoing through the empty halls of their home. But fate had other plans. Astarion, the immortal vampire who had endured centuries of torment, was gone, leaving Gale—the mortal wizard—to face the silence of their shared eternity. Now, with only his carefully crafted letters as a guide, Gale must navigate his grief and find solace in the words he once wrote for Astarion.
---
"My dearest starlight sovereign,
If you’re reading this first letter, I’ve likely committed the gravest of social faux pas by dying without properly scheduling it. I can already hear your indignant protest: “Really, darling? And after all those lectures about proper planning and preparation.” I know how you despise impromptu departures, my love—particularly the permanent kind."

Summary
Gale had desperately clasped Astarion's wrist, preventing him from fully wrenching away. From fleeing. And for a brief moment Astarion was ready to lash out with all of the feral fury a starving spawn had to offer.
The memory of that scorching touch was like a scar. The imprint of his lightly calloused, bare palm on Astarion's slender wrist was an invisible, white-hot brand upon his flesh. It was only Gale's wide, worried eyes and immediate surrender of Astarion's captured limb that saved him from being torn to ribbons by long-forgotten vampiric claws.
He loathed it. Touching and being touched.
People did not touch Astarion and survive.
Astarion did not touch people destined to live.
---
Astarion has a complicated relationship with physical touch. It brings up a wellspring of memories best left forgotten, and he doesn't even know if he could enjoy it anymore should he ever let anyone close enough to try... or five times Astarion sees Gale being held and has a lot of difficult feelings about it + the one time he does it himself and knows exactly how he feels about it.

The funny thing about plans is they have a way of going sideways.

Bloodweave Valentine's Fic Swap 2024! I hope you enjoy, PhantomStutter!
They wanted something vulnerable - an intimate moment - and I did my best to deliver.===
The magus reached up with a hand, placing a gentle touch on Astarion’s cheek. For once, Astarion didn’t flinch away from the contact. He let Gale cup his cheek, let him run his calloused thumb along his cheekbone. “You know,” Gale started, “you and I are not so different.” He smiled, sliding his hand up to tangle his fingers loosely into Astarion’s silver curls.
Astarion closed his eyes. “We have our similarities,” he agreed softly. He let Gale massage his scalp with his blunt nails for a moment, taking the time to think.
He wasn’t taking advantage of Gale like he had planned to do with the first lay of the camp. He hadn’t even thought of it, hadn’t had those intentions from the beginning. He was truly showing the man what it was like to be touched, to be held, to be loved. It was like looking in a mirror, like showing himself it was okay, too.
Maybe he wouldn’t take advantage of Gale.

Summary
“The book,” Gale urged. “Open up the damned book! Find out what this is.”
Astarion nearly dropped it trying to retrieve it from his pack. “Are the spores dangerous??”
“I don’t know.” Gale tried to wipe off as much as he could, but his skin felt like it was on fire. In fact, his whole body had begun to feel rather feverish.
Astarion skimmed the words, rapidly turning the pages. “Red cap… pink stalk… trumpet shaped…” his finger suddenly landed on a line, eyes widening. “This! Lushcap. Sometimes known as Nymph Blush.”
“It releases spores that, upon contact, affects the body almost instantly,” he read, his expression growing a bit more nervous. “Symptoms include warming of the extremities, shortness of breath, increased heart rate, dizziness, and decreased spatial awareness. This is because Lushcap acts as a powerful…”
Astarion trailed off suddenly.
Gale stared at him, waiting for him to go on. Astarion opened his mouth and shut it a few times.
“What?” Gale pressed.
A powerful what? Toxin? Paralytic? Parasitic organism?
“Astarion.”
Astarion finally looked up at him, looking both amused and on the edge of a nervous breakdown. “… Aphrodisiac.”
