Summary
Despite the literal horrors, Eddie was doing pretty damn well. He'd spent months suffering in the Upside Down and come back out the other side alive and mostly in one piece. The only thing that had really been irking him recently was Steve Harrington.
Eddie had only seen him once, when Hopper first dragged him out of the tunnels, heaving for air under Eddie’s weight. Dustin had practically materialized in front of him and hugged him so hard it hurt, sobs wracking his body just as hard as they had the last time Eddie had seen him. Steve was a yard away, silent and straight-faced, and they made hardened eye contact over Dustin’s shaking shoulders.
It struck Eddie that Steve didn’t exactly look happy to see him. He wasn’t really expecting the guy to fall at his knees or jump for joy or anything, but this cold sort of indifference was not really what he had envisioned. Honestly, Eddie had thought things were pretty good between them pre-bataggedon. They even had Hobbit-centric plans for when the world was done ending, but clearly something happened that put a cramp in whatever good thing they had going.
OR Eddie is found alive, and it doesn't magically fix all of Steve's complicated emotions about him.

Summary
When the Byers had moved, it was different. They had left in the face of horrible events, sure, but contact was kept, visits were made, no gaping wounds were left open and festering. Eddie, on the other hand, had shut just about everyone out completely. And something about it being Eddie just…ate at Steve. He missed him so badly it hurt, even a full year later, when he’d truly decided there was no hope of Eddie making his way back.
Imagine his surprise when Dustin Henderson careened into the newly remodeled (post near-apocalypse) Family Video, out of breath with a grin on his face. “Eddie’s coming home.”
Steve choked on the Coke he was sipping. “What the fuck did you just say?” he sputtered.
“Eddie is coming back,” Dustin repeated. “Like this week. Wayne has been getting behind at the shop, I guess. His back injury isn’t letting up, so he can’t keep up with demand. Eddie’s going to come work on some cars for him until the shop is caught up.”
OR: Eddie leaves town after recovering from his injuries and shuts Steve out of his life. When he returns to Hawkins, Steve doesn't know if he'll ever be able to pick up the pieces of what they had left.

Summary
Viktor had never cared for the colder months. He already ran unbearably cold which made for uncomfortable nights in his poorly heated apartment, but the extra stiffness and ache that radiated from his bad leg as the temperatures dropped was the real icing on the cake. It didn’t help that his relationship with the winter holidays and they're accompanying festivities was tumultuous at best. Jayce, on the other hand, loved winter and everything that came with it, and in his mission to bring Viktor around to the festive season, he found that the only way to show him what it was all about was to take him home for the holidays.
OR: I saw a tweet about how Jayce’s mom probably knew all about the two of them and had Viktor over for dinner all the time and it sent me down such a spiral that now I’m writing a multi-chapter holiday fic.

Summary
The castle is tense after the discovery of Agravaine's deceit. Arthur has all but completely pushed everyone away in favor of suffering alone and Merlin and the knights struggle to bring him back to them. Just as Arthur begins opening up once more, an accident on a hunting trip forces secrets to be revealed and relationships to be tested. Upon discovering yet another betrayal Arthur forces Merlin and his defenders away once more, but this time, for good, banishing them from Camelot on pain of death. The withdrawal of Merlin's presence from the kingdom puts it into perilous danger and forces Arthur to question everything he'd ever known in order to save his kingdom.
OR: I rewatched season 4 and it made me so mad that I decided to make them suffer MY way.
(This will be an evenly split Arthur/Merlin and Gwaine/Leon fic)

Summary
Gwaine remained silent, staring at his hands as Leon gently wiped away any remaining grime. It wasn’t until the man was wrapping soft cloth around the battered knuckles that Gwaine broke the silence.
“I don’t know how to do this.”
“Do what?” Leon asked, keeping his eyes on his work.
“Let people in,” he said, raising his eyes to Leon’s.
Leon looked back, taking in the raw vulnerability there. “You don’t need to know how, you just have to try."
