“It can’t be,” Jimmy says, tears gathering in his eyes. He checks the tab list, but only finds the truth he tried to avoid. There, greyed out at the bottom is the one name he wishes he could bring back: Tango.
He doesn’t know why there’s a heaviness to the thought. Normally, he’d be happy to not be the first one out. But this is Tango, his ally, his friend, his– he’s not sure what Tango is to him. He’s an ally, not a teammate; there’s no reason his death should leave Jimmy’s chest so hollow, the world so empty.
There’s no reason it should feel like a part of Jimmy died.

Summary
There has to be something she can do to get back at Pearl. Gem knows she’s doing it as a means to tease her; while pickles have proven to be quite adept at landscape decoration, Pearl has bought out her stores far too many times. Gem could do the same to her by buying out one of her shops, but it doesn’t have the same flair. She could try branking her base, but that feels like something Grian or Joel would do.
No, Gem needs something better; she needs a prank that is fully hers.

Now, a man covered in blood is not the weirdest thing that Gem has seen come into the gas station at 1:18 in the morning – she’s seen weirder, she’ll have you know – but it certainly is the most infuriating. She watches as he strolls to the back of the store where the bathrooms lie, step after step leaving bloody footprints on her freshly mopped floors. In fact, she is so irate that she speaks up without thinking for a second whether doing so would be a bad idea. “Hey, you better clean up after yourself if you’re doing what I think you’re doing.”
