Damian had drawn himself in every scene imaginable: seated at the dining room table with his chin resting against his fist in concentration, glancing over one shoulder mid-conversation, kneeling beside a dismantled weapon, standing in the rain outside the cave entrance while water drips from his hair in dark rivulets, and him halfway through training, sweat sticking to his forehead while his fist collides with a practice dummy.
Okay. Alright. Technically, there wasn’t anything wrong here. So Tim could just call Damian a bit overly fixated and call it a day. Forget about all of this and just leave.
Tim was about to close the damn notebook when his eyes caught red on the next page.

Mello didn’t share his chocolate with anyone. And Matt didn’t need him to, because he didn’t like it all that much anyway. He preferred his cigarettes over the gooey sweetness that was chocolate, even on a bad day.
When his DS refused to boot up that morning, no matter how much he charged it, Matt did not yet consider it a particularly bad day.
When his goggles fell and cracked as a result of something that seemed to be a mix of clumsiness, bad luck and built-up karma, Matt considered it to be a shitty day, but not the worst one he’d ever had.
When a cat suddenly jumped in front of his car and he had to go and tell some sad, wide-eyed seven-year-old girl why her beloved Mr Fiddles wasn’t going to come home anymore, Matt was just about ready for this excruciating day to be over.
Matt didn’t think he’d had this bad a day since the day Mello had left Wammy’s without telling him.
Which was saying something, because that had been the worst day of his life.
