Not everyone from Party A-1 came back.
Everyone has a motive to descend through the floors. It varies, but Cosmo just wants to help. He can sense the distress of those around him, and he instinctually moves to ease it in the only way he knows how. He supposes Party B-1 will simply have to make it, for the sake of those who didn't.
OR ; Tasked with descending the floors and finding research to aid those above ground, Cosmo finds himself in the position of team leader of Party B-1.

Painting had always been a passion of his, something he’d taken up to pass the time when he wasn’t acting for the company. The handlers never cared much for his hobbies, only his stage persona, which was fine. He didn’t expect them to.
But the toons were his friends, so surely they’d care.

“I'm fine, thank you,” He whispered, shakily rising to his feet. Immediately his stomach did a flip, and he squeezed his eyes shut for a moment, taking an unsteady breath. “You can go!”
“I disagree,” Finn said, crossing his arms, narrowing his eyes. “You’re clearly unwell, even beyond what I can smell, you look unhealthy!”
Glisten waved a hand, brushing Finn’s comment off. He couldn't afford to get in trouble. “I told you, I'm fine. Your silly sense of smell must be wrong.”
OR: Glisten is sick and being stubborn about it.

It dawned on him immediately. He spun to face Finn, who seemed rather perplexed and irritated about being back in Glisten’s room. “Did you open the door yourself?”
Finn tried to step out of Glisten’s room, clearly not willing to give up his newfound freedom. Glisten grabbed his wrist, tugging him back in and closing the door. Finn growled, glancing down at Glisten and pinning his fins back.
“No. You’re not leaving until you help me with this. Open the door.”
Finn tilted his head. Glisten sighed, reaching a hand out and opening the door. Finn watched curiously, tail curling around his legs. Glisten pulled the door shut again.
“Show me how you got out of my room, please,” Glisten said, crossing his arms across his chest.
