Grace's webbed hands press against the glass, his curious chitters surprising the young man standing next to the viewport he was observing from. He’s newer on the team, Grace jogs his memory for his name again.
The young man holds his hand to his chest, breathing a sigh of relief, “Oh hey, Grace. Come to see your new neighbor?”
He nods, chirping his burning question, “Who is it?”
“Dunno,” Chris, right, that’s his name– “It’s another mer.”
(Or, Rocky and Adrian are helped by a merman named Grace, and in turn they save him. Now happily living in the Erid Marine Rehabilitation & Research Center, Grace is surprised when another injured merman named Simon is brought to recover in a neighboring tank. Perhaps, these two lost souls may finally have a home, together.)

Grace couldn’t even remember what he wanted to say. Actually, there were no words that described what he wanted. “No. No, keep going.”

Feeling all of this and willing to accept the devastation that’s already drawn in his cards: because Steve is worth it. More than worth it. For just a second of everything he’s felt across these months: Steve Harrington is worth the whole heart in Eddie's chest, so if that’s the cost, then: fuck.
Worth the price of admission and then some.
“I’m not what he’s looking for, though, not for always,” Eddie lays that out plain, because he means it—Steve cares for him, probably loves him in a way and it's such a good way; Eddie doesn’t doubt him when he talks around the word, and doesn’t think too hard on how he doesn’t say it straight out. Because:
“I’m not what he’s waiting for, what he deserves,” Eddie shrugs, and if he hugs himself a little for it, then, fuck off: the trailer’s new but the draft’s still a bitch. “He’s waiting on that apple pie kinda life, that picket-fence love, y’know?”

Summary
After his brush with death, Eddie awakens to find himself in a plaid room with plaid sheets and Steve Harrington watching over him. The road to recovery is lined with realizations; his bravery was actually selfishness, his feelings for the former King of Hawkins Hight might be more than just a little crush, and - worst of all - he's dying. Doing what Munson's do best, Eddie runs leaving a shell-shocked Steve to pick up the pieces of a relationship that could have been.
Over the next several years Eddie's career skyrockets while Steve's left to face the aftermath of the end of the world alone. Though they both try and move on, they keep finding their way back to each other. Time and time again they meet, hoping that this time they'll finally get it right only for life and self-sabotage to get in their ways again. With his health declining rapidly Eddie writes one final album, Asphodel, his love letter he never got to send.
With one last hope to see Eddie again, and coughing up twisted flowers of his own, Steve goes to Eddie's Swansong performance. With one last chance the pair have a choice to make; confess their feelings or suffocate on their love

Then she noticed him and turned to face him, and the moment was broken as her lips curled into a frown and her eyebrows slanted, almost dramatically, emphasizing her displeasure, likely, Percy guessed, at having been knocked out and locked inside of a library.

Aziraphale hated interrupting; it was terribly rude - but he had to. He needed to tell Crowley this instant. “What’s the lovely human expression?” He asked, voice pitched with excitement, hands flailing excitedly in front of him. He knew there was something humans say when they need to say something urgently, but he was nearly too excited to recall it. “Oh, yes! Hold that thought.” He exclaimed, opening his mouth to tell the news about what the Metatron had offered them.
“Angel, I really, really think I need to go first. Get this out.” Crowley said through clenched teeth, not nearly as against interrupting as Aziraphale was. The angel’s hands clenched and unclenched eagerly in front of him, wanting desperately to just blurt out how he was going to make things better, make them right. Make things how Crowley and Aziraphale always thought they should be. But he would really rather tell the whole story from beginning to end first, and if he had to wait for whatever Crowley was going to say to get it out in full, then he supposed he could do so patiently.
“Well- yes, alright. Do go on then.”
