Summary
For the first time in his life, Shouto Todoroki thinks he might be happy. Freed from his father's rule by the hand of his husband and now king, Shouto finds himself swept up in his lovers' embrace, the impending threat of a powerful necromancer and his undead pet with a grudge little more than a distant anxiety easily ignored for the miracle that is being loved by Katsuki and Izuku, and watching them love each other. The Todoroki kingdom has fallen, sending its monarchs retreating to the mountains for shelter and aid. A mad man has taken the Todoroki kingdom and he won't rest until the whole world lies broken at his feet. Tomura Shigaraki must be stopped, but the new alliance forged between the barbarian conqueror and the disgraced flatland king is tenuous at best. As tensions mount, Shouto finds himself trapped between two levees-- on one side, his kingdom, his blood, and his legacy, on the other, his lovers, his home, and the family that made him theirs. Leaning over, Todoroki picks up the letter on Bakugou's desk. The one Deku took from the corkboard and strategically placed right in front of the sender to prove some weird theory that isn't true.
“I had no idea you were so fond of letters,” Todoroki teases, eyes flickering with gentle amusement.
“I ain’t fond of a single damn thing so shut your mouth,” Bakugou snaps back.
“If you say so…”
They're not love letters. Duh.

“How is it?” Shouto asks tentatively.
“Alright,” is the rather disappointing response. “I’ve cooked better at home.”
“I see.”
With a huff, Shouto stabs at his own milder curry. The Plan can’t be haphazard like this or rely on mere technicalities. Once again, he is unsuccessful.
“Not worth queue-jumping either, you public menace.”
Wonderful. So Katsuki had seen that too.
“In my defence-”
Katsuki prods the chopsticks in Shouto’s direction.
“Don’t. There’s no defence for that,” he says, like describing a truly heinous act.
“Spoken like a model citizen."
Consideration seeps into all Katsuki does. Shouto thinks, then, that he'd like to do something out of consideration too.
