“If you’re busy. We can save this for another—”Her shoulder brushes against you as she walks by, and she halts, slowly turning towards you, leaning just enough to feel the heat of her breath against your ear. You stiffen.
“Director. Be a good girl and wait.” She straightens herself to her full height; her hand adjusts the collar of your shirt, her thumb grazing the inside of your neck.
Your gaze hardens as you stare up at her, swallowing an uncomfortable build-up in your mouth.
“There’s no need for that look.” She lets go of your collar, running a finger down to your collarbone. “We’re to be believable for the next couple of months. Start changing that look. Should I teach you a thing or two? On how to look at me properly?”
You grind your molars together, forcing a smile against your lips. Jaw tight. Being this close. You swear you see specks of gold within her slate eyes.
“No need. I’ll wait.”
