    Summary

    While I'm still new to actually writing fanfiction, a while back I ran across a fic tagged Evil Author Day. Upon some digging, I learned that it's basically a tradition of posting snippets from unfinished works every year on or around February 15th. There is no guarantee that the snippets will ever turn into published works, but it's still a fun chance for authors to show off.

    Each chapter is a different snippet, which comes from one of a variety of fandoms I've been experimenting with writing in.

    I've tried to indicate in the notes some idea of where the snippets fit into larger works. As these snippets end up published in finished works, I'll indicate as appropriate.

  4. Obscure Guardian by

    Summary

    This series started from a simple idea that has become a popular theme since the release of the new Fantastic Beasts film.
    Specifically, what if the Dursleys' abuse (which everyone agrees is canon, at least to some extent) led to Harry becoming an Obscurial. Given that jumping off point, I decided to explore the consequences of this notion. In this case, things kick off well before Harry reaches Hogwarts age with the emergence of the Obscurus in Part 1.

    Part 1: Unexpected Consequences is complete. It covers Harry and Sirius' initial reunion in 1985.

    Part 2: A Tale of Two Letters is complete. It takes place six year later, in the summer of 1991, and covers the Hogwarts invitations and the realizations that come in the aftermath of those letters' delivery.

    Part 3: Irregular Homecomings is complete. It takes place starting in the summer of 1994, and is the events of Goblet of Fire in this universe.

    Part 4: Appendices are reference notes for the series. Each chapter is independent, and chapters are posting periodically.

    Summary

    The Big Short Challenge on Rough Trade (http://www.roughtrade.org/)'s forum, has two versions.
    The first, Variations on a Theme, is a 500-1000 word story given a one word prompt.
    The second, Variations on a Character, is a 1000-2000 word story given a character prompt.
    This series includes the various shorts that I've written in response to some of the prompts.

    There are seven novel-length fics, plus a prologue (to leap and love the fall) and two longer stories (with courage unyielding and the gentle sunlight). The short story collection to journey on contains shorter stories set within the main timeline. All are posted in the correct reading order.
