It's the summer of 12. Not '12, like 2012 AD. Just 12. More specifically, the year 12 PA (Post Apocalypse, guys, keep up). And man, Lawrence, Kansas ain't the bustling metropolis it used to be.
Somewhere in the wreckage, Mary, Dean, and Sam Winchester are trying to pick up the pieces of their lives. And yeah, maybe their home is kind of a mix between a drafty cave and a blackened crater, but it's their crater-cave, and that's what counts.
Unfortunately, in spite of being a nice, normal, somewhat shell-shocked family in this universe, they wouldn't really be the Winchesters if they didn't end up smack in the middle of everything. They're not sure what they did to garner the attention of the Heavenly Host and the Hoards of Hell, but suddenly they've gone from being insignificant blips on the radar to the biggest players in the game.
Still, the world's already ending - how much worse could it get?

After his mother's death, Stiles Stilinski - Night Vale born and raised - moves to Beacon Hills to live with his estranged father. He quickly makes friends with Scott McCall, and the rest of the pack by extension, who do everything they can to keep him out of the paranormal tomfoolery that goes about town.
But while you can take a boy out of Night Vale, you can't take the Night Vale out of the boy.
(Well, not without a scalpel, anyway.)

Tells her that if the numbers and the shapes and images in her mind hurt so bad then she should build them, should give them form so that they can finally leave her alone.
Jarvis is the one who finally teaches her how to breathe.
Or
Toni Stark grows up with the tale of Icarus swirling in the back of her mind. Instead of taking it as a precautionary tale about hubris and overreaching she decides it's more about the limitations of wax.
Years later when she builds herself wings of her own she makes sure to build them out of better material.
