Deerborne seems like a perfectly average town, but every season, The Dragon’s Voice comes down the mountain to collect their sacrifices to The Dragon, who lives atop the mountain. Every winter, that sacrifice is human.
This year, that sacrifice is Alastor.
He’s taken up the mountain and told that The Dragon will be bringing him to a town on the far side called Hazbin, which is to be his new home.

Charlie is dealing with the heartbreak of a recent amicable break-up with Vaggi. Angel Dust, meanwhile, has been grappling with some feelings of attraction he appears to have developed for Charlie and realizes that though he is gay, he might be demisexual when it comes to women, or at least when it comes to Charlie, whom he deeply adores. He seizes the opportunity to help Charlie feel better while at the same time indulging in his attraction to her, curious to explore the possibility that it could be mutual.
I'm not sure when in canon this story would take place. Either an alternate timeline to season 2 where Angel Dust does not leave the hotel, or some time much later after he inevitably returns. I'm also ignoring the way Charlie thoughtlessly pressures him in "Speed Run to Redemption" because I have quite a few issues with that entire plot point.
