“Wait for it.” Rumi’s hands press against the glass while her eyes scan the skyline excitingly. Suddenly, her hand shoots to the right. “There! Over there!”
Mira’s gaze follows to where Rumi is pointing and sees it just in time. A glimmer of gold waving through the Honmoon.
“Holy shit,” Mira mutters.
Zoey’s eyes widen. “Was that…?”
“A glimpse of the golden Honmoon,” Rumi fills in the question, her eyes shining brightly. “I think our fans like for us to be an item.”

Zoey’s eyes narrowed at the mention of Mira’s name.
“I’ll make that promise. But only if you tell me the truth about her too. When you ran out on me last night, you ran to her. You were gone all night and somehow, Mira knew more about it than I did. And now you tell me that she’s the one to call if you’ve lost control of yourself?” Zoey’s voice had started off angry, but the notes of sadness were undeniable at the end.
“Zoey… I can’t tell you. Not everything. About Mira.” Her mouth twisted, not quite a smile. “It’s like how I couldn’t tell you directly that I was a vampire.”
“So Mira’s a vampire too?!”
Rumi huffed softly, a bitterness in her laugh. “No. God, no. Unfortunately, she’s not. But...she’s not human either. She could keep you safe. From me"

After her voice failed during the Golden Live Show practice, Rumi ran. What she didn't consider was Zoey and Mira following her. Them finding out she is a demon goes nothing like she thought it would.
Now, Rumi's patterns won't stop spreading, and she can't deny the connection she feels to the honmoon. She also can't deny how weak it seems to be getting. Gwi-ma probably knows they were about to seal the honmoon for good and has something planned. Something big that has every cell in Rumi's body vibrating.
If that wasn't enough, there's also this stupid fluttering in her stomach every time Zoey and Mira get close to her, which has been happening more and more since they saw her patterns.

Rumi froze. Her brows drew together, mouth parting as if she might protest. “I don’t…” she started, fumbling, “I don’t have any drawings of French girls.”
For half a breath, she looked genuinely puzzled. Then recognition hit. The scene, the line, the implication. The warmth rose quick and sharp to her face, chased by something heavier that settled low in her belly. “Oh,” she breathed, soft but steady.
