It had been there when his partner had arrived for the first time to the mall, ‘tagged’ by a duplicate set of his shades. Neither had bothered to move it, even as Amir moved into the backrooms with them.
But, evidently, his partner had done some redecorating.
Even from where he sat, he could spot the vibrant orange collar that now rested on the mannequin’s neck, complete with a short, thick leash, the loop of which rested in its odd plasticine hand.

Ghost hadn’t appreciated the gesture, and Soap had been left alone behind a closed door with his tail tucked between his legs, and his ears pressed flush to his head.
