“I don’t know. I don’t know what you want. This is—this would be wrong, wouldn’t it?” Chan says, even though saying it out loud implies he’s thinking about it. If they don’t say anything, they could pretend none of this ever happened.
“What would be wrong?” Felix asks, meeting his eyes again. His lips turn up. He’s being a tease.
“This,” Chan says. He gestures between them. “Whatever we’re doing.”

“I was thinking about you,” he admits. And then he takes Felix’s hands, pins them next to his head on the pillows. “How hot you were tonight.”
Felix licks his lips. “What are you gonna do about it, then, huh?” It’s hard to decide where to look. He flexes against Chan’s grip, but Chan doesn’t let him go. “Gonna fuck me, Daddy?”
“Actually…” Chan begins, his ears turning red. He brushes his hand down Felix’s body, and Felix feels his stomach swoop with nerves. Chan is being weird again. No doubt about it.
Or: After their intense performance at Lollapalooza, Felix is eager to get his hands on Chan, even if Chan wants to switch things up.

“Really? A marriage pact? I think I’m too drunk for that.”
Felix was definitely drunk. Chris was right. Too drunk for them to be agreeing to a marriage pact. Still, Felix grabbed a napkin and a pen and wrote it out in sloppy handwriting.
Felix still has that napkin, now. It’s tucked away in one of his comic books. They have mentioned it jokingly a few times after making the pact, but then Chris started dating and there hasn’t been much of a reason to bring it up.

“You understand, right?” Felix asks, and Chan nods again. Hm. “If you understand, then, shake your head.” He nods. “You can’t understand me?” He nods. “You’ve no idea what I’m saying?” Chan looks more troubled by this endless stream of questions, but he nods again.
It can’t be. Chan knew he was coming here to live. Surely he studied the language. But—Felix thinks back, all the smiling and nodding. The silence. The confusion.
Fuck—Chan doesn’t speak the language, can’t understand it. It must be isolating, and frightening.
Wherein Chan and Felix go above and beyond for each other.
