Summary
Alhaitham was a good actor. No, that was an understatement: Alhaitham was an impressively skilled actor. He was utterly unfazed throughout the exchange, — even while discussing honeymoon plans — a languid arm thrown around Kaveh’s waist, rubbing absentminded circles onto his skin as if he were perfectly at ease pretending that Kaveh really was his lover, his safe space, his joy and comfort.
And it was… oddly soothing. A firm, grounding grip on his body, a compliment here and there, a demonstration of care and attention in between comments about Inazuman tourist attractions. It felt natural, even, organic, as if Alhaitham weren’t acting at all. And that was the worst part. The last thing Kaveh needed was to fall in love with his roommate (who he also considered to be his best friend, although he’d never admit that out loud).

Professor Kaveh is the nicest professor ever, will help you with your projects, and brings free chai during finals week, BUT he will keep you past the scheduled class time to complain about Professor Alhaitham from Haravatat.
Be sure to pay attention during those rants because he DOES include test questions about them. I failed the final because I didn’t remember the exact date Professor Alhaitham supposedly “betrayed” him by eating his last pita pocket.

With too much alcohol in their blood, the silent moonlight behind never cleaned windows, and a need to chant the other's name, strangers turn into lovers.

“Speaking of cute,” Kaveh continues, “the client- you know, the one who gave me Parry? She’s totally my type.” Kaveh sighs wistfully. “It’s a shame we met through work. Otherwise, I would’ve taken her out to dinner sometime.”
With what mora? Alhaitham thinks, the witty remark on the tip of his tongue. However, the curious side of Alhaitham takes over his vocal functions.
“Your type is… cute?”
Kaveh blinks at his unusual question but recovers quickly. “Yeah, pretty much. But that’s basically everybody’s type.”
Alhaitham’s type, he surmises, is tall, blond, red-eyed architects, so he’s not sure where Kaveh is getting his evidence from.

Alhaitham learns that Kaveh’s type is “cute.” He loses his mind a little.

Tighnari is, by all definitions of the word, done. He’s had enough of Kaveh and Alhaitham both. Whenever Kaveh goes out, he asks where Alhaitham is. When Tighnari visits Cyno, he sees the way Alhaitham’s eyes look past him, as if waiting for a certain architect to barge through the door. Alhaitham attended Dehya’s most recent house party, but did nothing more than stand in the corner and watch Kaveh for half the night before leaving.
Attempts to get Kaveh to make the first move have been futile. So, Tighnari decides to take matters into his own hands.

Summary
Alhaitham happened to be the first real guest of Kaveh's newly finished, long-awaited, personally designed house. The place glittered from floor to ceiling, with all the extravagance and elegance a wealthy architect could buy in the heart of the city.
But even then, some things never change. It couldn't escape Alhaitham's notice that the bathroom was chock full of his favourite products, or that the familiar aroma of sandalwood oudh permeated each room.
So when Kaveh, after a candlelit dinner, offered (asked) him to stay the night, despite the state of the unfurnished guest bedroom - which Alhaitham knew was missing even a modest mattress - it was as if a decade-long puzzle he was too scared to solve finally clicked into place.

It almost feels like Al-Haitham is a dog following Kaveh around as he makes his rounds through each room. Every time Kaveh hugs someone he hands the bottle back to Al-Haitham, who dutifully holds it and takes a sip each time, perhaps to avoid having to speak to anyone. At some point during their endeavour Kaveh ends up wrapped around Al-Haitham’s arm, his mind blurry from the alcohol even as Al-Haitham remains annoyingly unaffected.
Kaveh decides at this moment that he wants to get Al-Haitham drunk. Honestly, he hasn’t seen him actually drink since they moved in together. Maybe something in him yearns for the kind of fun they had on nights out before their arguments, but Kaveh doesn’t linger on the thought for long.
Instead, he drags Al-Haitham back to the kitchen to fill him a cup of his own, “What do you want?”
Al-Haitham looks at him and blinks, “What?”

Summary
Truly, it wasn't Kaveh's fault. If there was anyone to blame it was Alhaitham.
That didn't mean Kaveh enjoyed seeing the gaping wound on his side while they were trapped underground in ancient ruins, hoping for a way out. All while Alhaitham continued to drip blood on the sandy floor. Maybe Kaveh shouldn't have waited this long to confess his true feelings towards his junior. Maybe it was too late.

“So, what do you think?” Kaveh smiled as he laid out a blueprint on Al-Haitham’s desk.
“Why are you asking me?”
“Well, you’ve been ogling me for the past hour, so I thought you were interested.”
“I’m Haravatat. And your junior.”
“Well, that never stopped anyone, did it?” Kaveh asked, a bemused look on his face. Al-Haitham knew he was expecting kind words and unsure statements about a crudely crafted building on paper — maybe something to boost his ego.
Al-Haitham threw the words onto the paper and watched as Kaveh’s eyebrows climbed higher and higher on his face.
Once he was finished, Kaveh took a seat beside him and grabbed a pencil.
“What are you doing?”
He’d scoffed. “Clearly, you don’t understand a single thing about modern architecture, Haravatat. What’s your name?”
“Al-Haitham.”
“Hmph,” Kaveh had said, flexing his fingers, pencil hovering over the blueprint. “Pay attention. I’m going to show you why you’re wrong.”
