Still, the way Clark Kent is staring at her, all too serious, filled with too much wounding devotion, she fears what he’s going to say because she’s always thought he’s perpetually one step shy of declaring his feelings for her — and she doesn’t entirely know what her response will be. Lois usually has her answers for everything.
He steps forward. “I need to tell you something, Lois. Something I should have told you a long time ago.”
And then, moving slowly, deliberately, he takes off his glasses — and just like that, Lois Lane’s entire world tilts off its axis.

Kate spends one more night with Tyler before flying back to New York.
From the first day she met him, it had been clear to Kate that there was more to Tyler the tornado wrangler than met the eye, but that day she’d been too stubborn, too set in her mindset of us-versus-them to take a closer look.
She takes the time now though, trains her expert gaze on him like he’s a storm gathering in the atmosphere, threatening to morph into a gale force wind strong enough to knock her on her ass. Maybe he already has.
He watches the bumps in the winding country highway as she studies him, the strain of Shania’s guitar chords scratching through the speakers as he capably guides the truck around another pothole.
Eyes still on the road, he quirks his lips, breaking the comfortable silence between them. “What are you staring at, Sapulpa?”
The corner of her mouth twitches, her eyes still glued to him. “You.”

“You say that like you boys make it hard. Reality is, most of you just coast on by the fuel of your natural talent until you hit a wall. Then you grab a chair and get comfortable.” Natasha leans forward slightly. “I don’t get comfortable.”
“Well, ain’t that a shame.” A slight Southern inflection comes out. “I like being comfortable. But sweetheart, I don’t coast. I speed. And you better be able to keep up.”
