Everything was in slow motion, Henry's gurgling was sickening. The sound of their mother’s cries filled the room, and the sound of the 911 operator added another layer of terror. Their mother fell to her knees beside Henry, sobbing uncontrollably. She applied pressure to the wound, her hands barely cupped into fists because they were shaking so badly. -
