Summary
Even after all these years, the constantly warm and humid Florida air was the one thing George never got used to. He wasn’t used to walking down the streets of Miami during October and feeling sweat trickle down his back or having the skies read clear of clouds. He wasn’t used to the most festive thing about Florida during the holidays, the downtown Christmas lights, instead of snow blanketing the sidewalks and lining the dangerously icy roads.
When he turned 20, his reason changed.
October was the month he met Dream, nine years ago on the fifteenth.
Now, he looks back on their old messages, scrolling through the memories that show how happy they used to be. George was so in love. He’d never felt like that for anyone before Dream. He’d never let his guard down the way he did with Dream, never let himself fall so hard. He thought he would marry Dream and was looking forward to it. They were so close. They almost made it.

A year after their messy breakup and zero contact, Dream and George run into each other at a local coffee shop. -

Summary
When George got his Visa, it felt like his life was slowly falling into place. His life felt complete the first time he got to hug Dream, the first time they kissed, the first day they spent alone together—for the first time in a long time, everything felt perfect. Everything was brand new, fresh, and exciting, like the start of a friendship you already knew would last decades.
Their relationship had always teased beyond the boundaries of regular friendship and ventured into the realm of something more. Their relationship was far from platonic, yet it never went far enough to warrant a more definitive label until George, sick of the uncertainty, finally mustered the courage to express to Dream his longing for something deeper. Being as awkward as he is, it was via text. Regardless of how, George told him.
Unfortunately, he never got his answer.

After Dream gets into a car accident, giving him intense temporary amnesia, George tells one white lie that snowballs into an entire fake relationship. The one thing he doesn't think about is what will happen when Dream inevitably gets his memory back. -

Summary
George has finished unpacking, and he hears his brand new roommates chatting outside his room in the hallway. It’s nice to hear their voices in person, just a few feet away from his door. It’s strange to have his own bedroom in Dream’s house, just down the hall from Dream’s room. At any moment, he could get up, walk down there, see his face, hear his voice, feel his touch, his kiss.
Things are brand new between them. Their relationship, in general, is pretty new, and it being their first day meeting in person and George’s first time seeing him, it’s a little awkward between them. Neither of them knows what to say or what they’re allowed to say. However, George is surprised that Dream is as nervous as he is. He seemed confident on the phone, even on their first FaceTime.

“Are you going to be a good boy?”
Dream shivers a little as Sapnap wedges the clips of the ears deeper into his hair, ensuring they won't come out during the night. It's a shockingly beautiful color match, nearly identical to Dream's hair color.
“He better be, or he won’t get his treats,” Sapnap responds for him, patting the top of his hair. “Puppy’s going to be great.”
If the tail he had in him were real, it’d be wagging frantically with excitement.
Sapnap was the first one to suggest puppy play. It was the first pet name he gave to Dream. He said it as a joke, but Dream liked it, and Sapnap enjoyed it quite a bit himself. George was initially hesitant, but he finds that he enjoys having that control over Dream.
Everyone always talks about Dream being just like a puppy. Giddy, excited, optimistic, clingy… just like a puppy. Sapnap was the one who made the comparison the most, which was why he initially suggested including it in their sex lives.

Dream is George and Sapnap's puppy for a day. They treat him like the mutt he is, and Dream loves every second of it.

“I’m–I’m sorry.” George mumbles an apology. “I didn’t know you were coming here, idiot. I–I–”
“So–so you told them we’re together?” Dream asks with a no bullshit tone. George’s eyes leave Dream’s, flitting to the pink elephant on his end table. “Why?”
“They–they were nagging me, Dream, and–and when I said I was dating someone and my mum assumed it was you…” George trails off with a shrug, scrunching his face at his own words. “I don’t know, Dream."
“But George,” Dream says his name with stress. “Now they think we’re together and we have to tell them the truth.”
