“Yeah?”
Wilhelm says it like a question, but he already knows what Erik is getting at. He’s young, but he’s not stupid. He just doesn’t want to believe it.
“You know that you can be just as happy without a soulmate, right? It’s just as meaningful to choose who you spend your life with. You know you’d be just as loved?”
But how could he be? Why would anyone choose him, the second prince, the family disappointment, the one who can barely withstand his royal duties without panicking? Would anyone who did choose him just be with him for his royal status? What reasonable person would choose Wille when they’d have to deal with his family and all its complications? What could be special about him, besides a soul bond?
Wille is nine years old, though, and such intricacies of the heart are still entirely beyond him. So he nods at Erik, turning to him with a faltering half-smile.
“Yeah. I know.”

Summary

Annabeth lets the burning in her muscles and lungs ground her as she sprints, letting her mind run through her plan over and over as her sneakers scrape against asphalt.
North along the Hudson river. Upstate New York or Canada or whatever. Just get out of the city. Get out of here.
Camp Half-Blood isn’t an option. Her first instinct was to run towards Long Island, toward camp’s protective barriers, but as she traveled east from her apartment, there were more and more of those…creatures. Too many to hope to evade for the entire trip back to camp.

Summary
Aang and Katara are newly engaged, but what happens when Azula's plan to get rid of the Avatar sends Katara into an alternate dimension-the dimension that you and I live in? Kataang but more heavy on plot than romance. 6 years post-war, multiple storylines, focuses mostly on Aang, Katara, and Azula, but also a good amount on Toph, Sokka, and Suki. Canon until after the comics but you don't need to read comics to understand.

Or a story where Voldemort learns of the prophecy and tests Regulus Black's loyalty by ordering him to kill James Potter.
