Everything had felt so cold. It had felt cold from the moment Mafuyu had seen Kanade's tiny form and the tear trails on her cheeks. It felt cold as she ran through the crowds, listening to Mizuki explain that the coldness was 'worry', and that it was normal for a friend to feel like that in such a desperate situation. She had felt cold until her feet had taken her all the way to Kanade's front door, and then she felt warm. So very warm. Her chest erupted in warmth when her hand made contact with Kanade's shoulder. The feeling spread through her bones when she soaked rice for Kanade to eat later. It seeped into her blood as her fingertips gently raked across Kanade's skull as she massaged the shampoo that had been carefully drizzled down onto her hair.
With this new warmth, Mafuyu couldn't help but smile.Series
