Unlike me, if you are very familiar with canon (comics and etc) Batman, are aware DC stands for Disregard Canon, and want to know which bits of canon I’m picking and choosing to follow, TLDR: That Thing That Happens to Steph took place before Bruce’s time travel, Kon and Bart took place after, Cass and Duke haven’t shown up yet, the Battle for the Cowl never happened, and Bruce got Tim a car as his sixteenth birthday present, like a normal-ass billionaire, instead of debilitating trust issues.
This note is for you, if like me, you’ve come to Batman fanfic with the extent of your Batman knowledge being the Jingle Bells variation where Robin lays an egg; maybe, if you were unlucky, you watched a bad Batman movie, if you were lucky, you maybe saw a Teen Titans cartoon on a waiting room tv once, and if life was particularly chaotic, a roommate randomly forced you to watch “Under the Red Hood” with absolutely no context and not having previously been aware there was more than one Robin (the OG, Richard “Dick” Grayson - yes, the Batman IP is older than dick jokes, and now it’s too late for them to change the name).

Summary
He’s not the first child with nowhere else to go that Bruce Wayne has taken in. Dick Grayson was the first and the most high-profile – because no one would have thought Bruce Wayne was interested in ever raising a child, let alone the orphaned son of circus performers – but Jason was maybe just as much of a shock to society for being a street kid who came out of seemingly nowhere. Tim Drake is ordinary by comparison – his parents died in a plane accident. He can’t think of anything very special about him except that he met Bruce a few times when his parents hosted parties to keep in touch with Gotham society.
Or, tiny Tim Drake is adopted by the Waynes a little earlier than scheduled.
